What is AIA?
10 Ways to describe it…
AIA is a movement of athletes seeking to honor God in sport and life. Seeking is an intentional word here. We're all in progress--people are not projects. But there are principles and practices that God has made for us to excel on and off the field.
AIA is a bunch of students, many of them of athletes, who are trying to figure out school, sport, faith, and life.
AIA is like a "Life Team." Just like you have a team for sports, we're like your team for life, in that we want to help each other live a life well-lived. And we believe that involves following the One who gave us life.
AIA is like a big family--we've all got issues, we're still figuring out how to walk by faith on and off the field, but we stick together. We're there for one another. We accept each other where we're at, but we care too much to let us stay that way. And God feels the same.
AIA is a student group. We have meetings each week and host special events. But we're much more than just a student group.
AIA is like an "A-A" group--we admit that we've got problems, that we need help. So we talk about it. But it's more than just talking--we're also learning about how to overcome and excel by looking to God who tells us how to succeed and then helps us do it.
AIA is a community of students, many of them athletes, who live life together, on and off the field. We support, encourage, comfort, and challenge one another to be all that God made us to be.
AIA is like your lab group for your soul. We dissect and analyze ourselves, and try to figure out what's really going on inside of us that impact comes out of us.
AIA is a ministry. We strive to minister to others and to each other. And we strive to be ministered to by God's ministry--namely, His Word, His Son, and His Spirit.
AIA is like a buffet. We cover lots of topics for us to chew on. You can take a little or a lot, it's up to you what's on your plate.
